The Italian tanslation of Parts 1 and 4 of the SIGLE (System for Information on Grey Literature in Europe) manual is presented. The first part deals with the rules for the compilation of the SIGLE worksheet. It consists of different numbered tags to be filled in according to the type of document that is to be described: some are mandatory for all types of documents (prymary title, date of publication, collation), others are to be filled in only if the record to be described belongs to a specific type of document, i.e. for reports the indications of corporate entries, report number and corporate entry code are mandatory. Part 4 deals with the standardization of corporate entries which must be done according to specific rules.
