The classification system object of the study and proposed in this report, is structured on three hierarchical levels: the first level consists of five main sectors (Natural resources, Production and services, Energy, Territory management, Interdisciplinary researches, for each one a scope note is presented). The second level contains 18 classes, placed within the main sectors. The third level includes 57 subclasses that indicate the specific subjects for each class. As for the main sector, also classes and subclasses have their scope notes indicating extention and specific issues. A subject index is also included.
